A visit to the Russian Museum is an integral part of every visit to the Northern capital. The main exhibition is housed in the Mikhailovsky Palace, which was built for Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich, the youngest son of Paul I. Every year about 30 exhibitions take place in the other buildings that form the Russian Museum – the Stroganov Palace, the Marble Palace and the Mikailovsky Castle.
